The Hispanic Coalition of Macomb has been in existence for over six years. Its mission is to serve the growing Hispanic population of Macomb County. Local organizations and residents join together to address issues that are affecting the Hispanic community. By forming a strong coalition of interests dedicated to neighborhood economic and community development, Macomb will be a future benchmark for area counties.
Hispanics populated the surrounding counties of Wayne and Oakland before Macomb, subsequently; Hispanic services are more prevalent in those areas. Macomb is in need of Hispanic services and the Hispanic Coalition is actively working to bring those cultural services to Macomb.
Hispanic educational needs, medical needs, as well as housing and basic human needs are being addressed. Cultural events as well as necessary services need to be established in Macomb County.
